SCS SB 352 -- CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS SALES TAX

SPONSOR:  Johnson (Lawson)

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee
on Local Government and Related Matters by a vote of 18 to 0.

This substitute defines "capital assets" and "capital
improvements" as they relate to capital improvements sales taxes
for municipalities.

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that the bill allows municipalities
to include software as part of a capital improvement.

Testifying for the bill were Senator Johnson; and Missouri
Municipal League.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
